Meeting Notes 16th May 2002

Received from Sijbren.
· Posters to go to Newnham, Milton Road, Witchford, Netherhall, Parkside, Comberton, Chesterton, Abbey, Parkside pool.
· No balls for Witchford yet. Liv to get one from Tigers.
· Minutes from junior meeting with parents shared, and spreadsheet of parents email address to be developed with a box to tick if parents wish to receive minutes etc.
· Liv to develop permission to play form with a tear off slip.
· Next parents meeting on 9th June 6pm after social at Perse Girls School. Lee to do slips for parents and invitation to Perse BBQ.
· Continue to develop South Cambs Sports newsletter.
· Liz still to write letter and book coach for National Youth Day.
· Ritola tournament was very successful. Remaining food will be sold at next events. Feedback from BKA and areas was positive. Thanks to all involved, Dave Bate, Sam, Steve, Brenda and Zareh.
· Lee has spoken to PB regarding buying posts, he is not keen to move on the price. Lee to talk further with Andy and Steve Barker. Need to look at condition of posts in Cambridge.
· Lee to photocopy and use at training and schools.
· Liz to write to schools. 8 teams possibly to go. Adults likely to go: Liv, Lee, Liz, Jo, Simon, Reda? Laura/Lia? + parents. Also need to ask around clubs for volunteers.
· See matters arising.
Discussion points:
· Develop 6 years of juniors U9, U11, U13s into 1 club then start afresh with next years intact.
· Clubs to work towards taking on junior coaching, need more coaches and more links to schools.
· Develop teachers to coach.
· Need to move into secondary schools.
· More money from outside sources needed eg Council
· Need juniors league
· Expand juniors committee to bring additional expertise.
· Involve parents more.
· Aim to develop more internationals.
· Run National Youth Day 2003.
· Priority 1) Schools, 2) Clubs, 3) More coaches at higher levels.
· Cambridge tournament - what ages will be brought? Liv to contact junior clubs and invite them.
· Inter-area match - U9/U11/U13 teams sorted. Referees and posts to be sorted by Liv. Liv, Lee, Sijbren, Mineke, Reda will be there.
· CitySport – 30th June – 4th August, need helpers, check Sarah and Reda are interested in helping. Need children. Lee to ask Witchford and to do flyer.
· Training fees – idea to pay termly? Possibly £3 for weekly payment vs £2.50 if paid termly. Liz to cost quarterly payment for next meeting.
· Club School Link – June 16th-23rd (1 person) and 24th-30th (2 people). Schools – Witchford Wed both weeks with Wed pm free for coaches, Lee to transport for day (Littleport posts). Newnham Tues (own posts). Milton Road Mon (own posts). Colville/St Matthews 1 day each. Liz to liase with Colville and St Matthews and pass list of contacts to Liv. Accommodation, Barbara? Also need helpers to assist in schools. Liz to ask Sarah West to liase with Comberton.
· U11 second team do not have kit, will wait for Lottery grant.
· Ritola tournament August 24th, Lee/Sijbren to gauge interest.
· Training – should it be 2 separate hours, will review in autumn after looking at numbers.
· Sijbren and Mineke are not here from 18th June –9th July. 23rd June coaching by club school link Dutch coach. 30th June, Lee to organise fun day. 7th July is N.Y.D.
· BBQ/social at Perse Girls School 9th June from 2-6pm approx also with rounders and tennis. Liz to cancel training 9/6/02. Lee to publicise.
· University Playscheme 5-7th June with 8-12 year olds from 8-5:30pm. Good idea, so can Sijbren organise?
· Sunday Helpers currently not regular enough , to discuss with CKA possible ideas for fines/forfeits if not attended. Updated schedule for helpers:
